Also, you are probably aware, but many Florida state parks are closed after Hurricane Irma, or are open for day use only. Here's a website where you can check; probably by the time you travel, they will all be open. http://www.news-press.com/story/weather/hurricane/2017/09/25/136-floridas-state-parks-reopen-after-hurricane-irma/701225001/
I have pictures of Tandem, I'll post. Interesting looking at your blog. We have the same interests. We once did 8 day sea Kayak in Belize. Outfitted ourselves and went out of Placencia. http://www.keelhauler.org/khcc/BelizeReport.htm
I'm just seeing this comment now as I read your most recent blog post. We do have interests in common! I just finished reading your Belize report, and it was fascinating. What an adventure! When did you take that trip? Based on the gas price you mention, sounds like it was awhile back. ๐ My husband wanted me to tell you that he is from North Canton, Ohio. Have safe travels down to Florida!
P.S. I also wanted to ask if you were aware of the Clarcona Horse Park campground in Apopka, FL. It is rarely busy and right along the West Orange Trail. We ride by there all the time (from Winter Garden), and it seems like a place you two might like. Kinda rustic yet still close to amenities, and the trail is a huge plus. You don't have to have a horse to camp there. ๐ https://www.allstays.com/Campgrounds-details/16969.htm
When do you expect to beat Silver Lake? Helen and I are going over there Sunday for several days and expect to do some kayaking now that the weather is cooler. In August we were the and it was way too hot on the lake. paulandhelen67@gmail.com
