When does the water get to town
Note most releases start at 10 AM EDT in the Spring/Fall and 11 AM in the Summer months.
The flow takes two hours to reach Sang Run Bridge, less time if natural flow is high.
The flow takes three hours to reach "Wait Rock", less time if natural flow is high.
5:00 hours after release start to reach "Friendsville" if Natural flow is >100 CFS
4:15 hours after release start to reach "Friendsville" if Natural flow is >200 CFS
3:30 hours after release start to reach "Friendsville" if Natural flow is >300 CFS
3:00 hours after release start to reach "Friendsville" if Natural flow is >400 CFS
The latest you can put in at Sang Run after a release
Level starts to drop 1:15 hours after the dam is shut off. if you want the full release. After 1:45 hrs, you will not have any water at the put in. After 2:00 hrs, you will spend all day chasing the release water flow.
The end of the bubble reaches Lost and Found, the last major rapid, about 3 hours after the release ends; it reaches the take-out in Friendsville about an hour later. Don’t fall behind the bubble.
Whether they release or not depends on what the Lake Level is compared to the Rule Band, See the Lake Level & Schedule
If the lake Level is above the Upper Rule Line, they will release that day.
If the Lake Level is within the Rule Band they will follow the Published Schedule
If the Lake Level is below the Lower Rule Line they may still do a 2 hr fish release if the water temperature high.
