Fall Fund Raising Season near the Gauley - Speed Traps

Postby JHunt » Tue Sep 05, 2017 3:41 pm

Many of the small towns around the Gauley use the fall water releases as annual fund raisers. They actively enforce the speed limits with NO grace amounts. The worst are Summersville and Gauley Bridge but others along RT60 do the same. The tickets are expensive - the one I got was for about $200 for 28 in a 25 zone.

Last weekend even the WV state police were at it. They were pulling people over on both sides of Summersville on RT19 and between Fayetteville and Oak Hill.

Just go slow and DO NOT SPEED.

Just remember - when you see a Polar Bear you only have to be faster than the slowest guy in the group
