Peggy and I flew out of Atlanta by AA to San Pedro Sula, HN via MIA. Everything was on time and we arrived in the evening in a light rain. We checked into Hotel Bolivar where we had a nice room once before. It was not too clean this time but we only needed to stay overnight before going back to the airport to try and catch an early flight to Roatan. First problem was that Sosa airlines could only get us to La Ceiba but we could then switch to Atlantic Airlines. This worked fine but our luggage did not come on the Atlantic flight. No problem, the luggage arrived 30 minutes later. We took a cab to the West End and checked into Posada Arco Iris where we had stayed 4 years ago. It's really a good choice for the West End if you want deluxe accomodations at a reasonable price. The light rain stopped by noon and we got another light rain on Saturday morning but that was it for the week. It was warm and sunny the whole week. We took a walk around to see what changes occurred in the last two years and took some pictures.

Our favorite restaurant burned down last August and just opened last week. The family now runs a second restaurant right next door called Mavis & Dixie's. Dixie now runs her own place and remembered us as soon as we walked in. Menu's are similar but Dixie really cooked us up some special meals. It's our new favorite restaurant.

We checked into our beautiful house at Luna Beach Resort, by afternoon The Drysdale's, Homberg's and Priem's arrived. Judi Cleary and Larry Fordyce came in on Sunday.

During the week six of us did 10 dives each. We did a deep wreck dive, a night dive and some drift dives. It was a nice week for diving but the visability was not as good as other years. The water was probably stirred up by the past week's storms
We ate a lot of lobster and fish at local restaurants all week long and had a big lobster/shrimp cook-in on Tuesday after our 5 hour sailing trip on the Salty Dog.

You couldn't help but have a good time. We had great weather, great friends sharing good meals and we were far away from the snow in Cleveland.

Our week at Luna Beach finally ended. Peggy & I had to head back to San Pedro Sula. The Priem's went back to Houston while Judi & Larry continued their adventure to Corn Island in Nicaraqua. Drysdale's and Homberg's had hoped to make it back to Cleveland but when they got to Atlanta they found out that all flights to Cleveland were cancelled due to the snow and they couldn't get a room or a rental car. Fast thinking, they decided to take the MARTA to Peggy's sister Bobbie's house and surprise us when we finally got there. They could not get a flight out until Tuesday.
We decided to try a different hotel in SPS. The Hotel El Almendral was in a good location for Peggy. It was right next to a new 3 story mall. We got to shop in A/C comfort. It was a very clean, safe hotel with locked parking if you had a car.
We had to get up early to catch our flight back to Miami and we got stuck with a 6 hour wait since we couldn't catch an earlier flight because of the backup from people who had got stuck in Miami due to the storms up North. When we got to the MARTA stop in Atlanta we were surprised by Pegge & Donna who picked us up to go back to Peggy's sister's home.
Hopefully we will make it back to Cleveland in our RV on Thursday.
